Rancho Cucamonga, CA- Early Monday morning, the Trump administration announced that it is expelling sixty Russian intelligence officers working under diplomatic cover from the U.S. in retaliation for a chemical attack on a former Russian spy and his daughter in England. Senior administration officials have said that the purpose of this action is to make clear to Russia that its actions have consequences. The Russians who have been expelled and their families will be given seven days to leave the country. In response to this action, Sean Flynn issued the following statement:
“I support the administration’s decision to expel Russian intelligence personnel from the United States. It is vital that we stand with our allies to respond to Russia’s criminal behavior throughout the world. While this was an important step, I urge the administration to do more. We need to be less responsive, and more proactive in countering Russian aggression.
Primary voting for federal elections is already underway throughout the country. Congress and the Administration need to do more to safeguard our election infrastructure and deter information campaigns by dictating clear consequences.
If elected to Congress, I would be vocal and active on this issue. My opponent has made zero progress in securing our electoral process against foreign agents.”
